Baby Zachary Loves Sign Language
Since before Zachary was born, wedecided to try and use some basic sign language to ommunicate with him. Some people think it’s crazy, others think it’s a good idea.  Personally we’re in the good idea group, here’s why.

Alot of frustration seems to arise from either not being able to understand your baby, or your baby not feeling understood.  Baby sign language eliminates these problems and it doesn’t take long before they can sign a few basic baby sign language signs at ya.

Zachary is 7 weeks old today and yesterday he was telling the world he wanted milk!  He can’t crawl, sit up or talk but he already knows how to signthat he wants milk.  I find it amazing, Vix is well happy and Zachary is happier because he knows when we sign milk, that milk is on it’s way.

Next one for him to learn is nappy change,  Although he may not find it as important or interesting as milk, babies are all about imitation and Zachary’s getting the hang of it

Baby Gro Bags & Baby Sleep Sacks

Baby Gro BagsThis is a creation that saves countless hours covering your baby back up.  The baby gro bag is pretty much a wearable blanket which prevents the baby from kicking off the covers.

If your baby is like Zachary and finds that kicking their covers off is one of many challenges a baby faces, then the baby gro bag / sleep sack is ideal for keeping your little ones feet sand legs covered up.

If you’ve never heard of a gro bag / sleep sack before then you may just fall in love with the idea.  The wearable blanket comes in sizes to fit your child until they are a toddler, and is totally safe and designed for babies and small children. The different tog ratings make it simple to pick the right gro bag for your child.

We love the whole sleep sack gro bag idea for Zachary, because as previously mentioned, he loves to kick his covers off and as parents we love to cover him back up.  The new sleep sack we’ll be getting for him will solve that.

Another ideal baby gift idea.

Baby Slings

Baby sling from MayawrapBaby slings are one of the most useful products on the market for new mothers.  If you have children and always thought that you could do with an extra pair of hands, then thats exactly what a baby sl8ing can provide. (Well not an extra pair of hands, more the use of one of your hands back).

Baby slings have pretty much replaced the big baby carriers that were about before. Nowadays baby slings are a large piece of material with a place for the baby to lay,  they remind me of tribal baby slings..

Babies love them as it’s just like being held and can hear your heartbeat.  Mothers love them because they have both hands free again to do things.

They come in all colours and designs and will support your baby while you go shopping, have a bite to eat or even just relax.

Benefits of a baby sling:

  • Makes breastfeeding discreet
  • Easily adjustable
  • Easy to fit
  • Multiple positions
  • Keeps baby coola
  • Baby feels closer to parent
  • Comfortable forboth mother & baby
  • Easy to put away and store.

We’ll be grabbing one for Zachary very shortly as no one bought us one for  a baby gift. :(

If your finding it hard to think of baby gift ideas, then the baby sling is a wise option.

Many of these useful products would make an ideal gift for a new baby.  In fact when Zachary was born we got asked almost everyday for the first week what we wanted as a baby gift.  With a new baby taking over your routine and brain power it’s hard to think.

Zach got pretty much everything he needed at the time but there’s still some things we had or still have to pick up from the shops.
