One of my friends recently asked me to look into him setting up a forum. He asked me, as he really has no idea about the whole web hosting world and knew i had a bit more of an idea than he did.
SO i spent a bit of time looking around trying to find a solution for him.
I wasn’t exactly given a whole load of info except he said he didn’t want to worry about the updating of the forum script. Nor did he want to deal with hosting issues and costs. So all that really tells me is that he wanted the same as the rest of the planet. A forum with no hassle.
So i set to looking around the vastness of the internet for a solution for him. I found a couple of solutions, but the one that grabbed my attention the most was this Free forum site.
The reason it caught my attention was because it offers quite a few preinstalled themes and has a simple create forum button. I figured my friend couldn’t really go wrong with this. He knows how to create accounts at websites and thats all he really needs to do. Create an account and then create his forum. Couldn’t be any easier really.
It also gives him the chance to grow his forum to a decent size as they allow unlimited messages,users and more. So he won’t be hitting any limits with them for quite some time. It’ll also solve his worries of updating the software for security reasons, as the site will take care of that for him.
I’m hoping he’s pleased with this little find, it won’t cost him anything, nothing to worry about in the backend, and best of all its free! (He likes when i use the word free with him
