Learning about poker, research pays off.

So it seems i’ve been spending alot of time ‘hanging around’ online casinos recently. Not exactly the healthiest of habits that i have. But a way to have a fun night without spending too much or having to actually get to a casino.

As much as i like having a game of blackjack or a go on roulette when i ‘Enter’ these casinos. I often wonder if looking into the whole poker thing would be worth it. I’m sure if you’ve been up late and channel surfing, you’ve seen the poker games on one of the channels. Now it’s always looked pretty cool to me and the prizes seem to be amazingly high for a game of cards.

But before i go and lose a bunch of cash on a game i know nothing about. I figured a little bit of research wouldn’t go a miss. After all thats what the internet was originally designed for right? The sharing of information.

I found about this little money saving thing called rake back. At first i had no idea what it was all about. But after a bit of reading i worked out that rake back is actually a way to get a bit of your hard earned cash back.

Although i’ll probably just put the cash straight back into the casino. It’s like getting to use the same money twice. For the same thing! I also noticed that as i was going to be a new customer, and new customers always get some kind of new bonuses or offers. I figured it’d be best if I looked around. I didn’t realise that the rakeback rates differed so much, i mean there is some serious difference it really is worth checking out.

Most seem to offer around the 30% mark. But there are some that pay slightly higher at 33%-35% and as high as 50%. The higher the better as far as i’m concerned. More money back for me.

I also found a site that offers a few free poker gifts. You get to choose between a poker tracker,Holdem manager or $75 free. I went for the $75 as i just enjoy free cash. I’m wondering if i’ll manage to get rake back on my free cash. (Here’s to hoping!)

So i learnt a few a things and it paid off, thats what research gets ya. A bit of extra cash in the back pocket to spend on things like…. Poker i suppose.
