Myspace Loses Myspace.co.uk

MyspaceIf you thought Myspace were an unstoppable force that hit the internet, Then think again.  It appears they’ve just lost one of their domains, Myspace.co.uk !

Yep if you visit the site, All you get is a blank page. Wondering,”Why?” “What happened to Myspace?” Or something else along those lines?

Well it was never really theirs to have in the first place. In fact it belonged to a small to medium sized ISP in Stockport here in the UK named Total Web Solutions.

Luckily for Total Web Solutions, an appeals panel heard their case and they now appear to have the domain name back.

Managing director Paul Fallon says:

“We refused to be bullied by one of the largest media organisations in the world,”

“This has been a very stressful case for a legitimate medium sized ISP to have to take on – but we had to defend our reputation and to stand up for what was right.”

Get Paid To Search The Internet – Updated

Just a small update regarding the post i made the other day about getting paid to search the internet.

I’ve managed around a hundred searches in just a couple of days. All of which were things i would usually search for using Google.  The interesting part is that i have been credited with all searches. Which adds up to about £3.  Of course i had to spend some time finding the results i was orignially looking for. Unlike Google. Ask throws out some rather random results.

Also i thought i would let you know that they appear to have changed the way things work. Orignally all searches made in your search box brought up an Ask.com page with your results in. This morning they made a change and it was more like a meta search engine which compiled its results from Yahoo search,Live search and Ask.com with a banner that stated google would be added at a later date. The date wasn’t much later, in fact it took just a couple of hours. But instead of searching Google ASWELL as Yahoo,MSN and Ask.com. It now just searches Google.com.

Not exactly sure how this new change will help Ask.com in the slightest as now their search engine isn’t even an option. But at least the searches are still being added up.

The Weekends Here, And Summers Just Around The Corner.

Well its that time of week again when the weekend is about to appear. Middle of the day on a Friday just waiting for my favourite person in the world to finish work and come home!  Yep my girlfriend finishes work in just a few hours. At which point we will have the entire weekend to relax and chill together.(Thats why i love the weekends so much).

Not that we have anything particular special planned. Its just nice to take some time out and spend that time with someone you love. Especially when they make you laugh and smile.

And as the weekend gets closer. So does summer. The weathers been kinda crazy round here recently. With miserable looking early mornings, hail stone in theearly afternoons. Finishing it off with a bright sunny evening. Does this mean summer is actually on its way? If your from the UK you will know as well as i do, Yes it does.

Dunno how long it will last for. But i intend to enjoy every moment of the sun and warmer weather. Cos once its gone. It’s gone for another year.  There is no second chance for good weather here in the UK.

Happy summer people.

Help Hex! – The Six Legged Kitten Needs You

This is one of those freaky moments in nature when people aren’t 100 percent sure of what exactly happened. I read it in the newspaper and had to read it again just to make sure i wasn’t imagining what i was reading.

For all those of you blissfully unaware of what i am talking about. It is of course the (6) Six legged Kitten who was recently born and named “Hex”. Vets and animal experts alike suggest that Hex had a Siamese twin whilst he was developing in his mothers womb. But due to some kind of anomaly his twin just didn’t make it.

This anomaly has left “Hex” with an extra set of hind legs, two colons and a duplication of part of his intestine. The extra colon and intestine are fully functional. (For even more information do a quick google search for either Hex the cat, or six legged kitten.)

So how does Hex need your/our help?

Well the family who own Hex are trying to save up for the vet bills to remove the extra limbs and perform the surgery to remove his Colon and extra intestines. Naturally this doesn’t come cheap ($2000 – $3000). Which is where we come in! This is a call to all cat lovers across the world. You could help Hex the Kitten live a normal life, Just the way he was supposed to.

How To Help.

If your willing to help Hex It couldn’t be simpler. You can either donate via Paypal or send a cheque. Which ever is easier for you. See the Hexfoundation for more info.

Get Paid To Search The Internet!

With all the hype surrounding this new method of getting paid for doing very little. I thought i’d give it a look. (No not because it’s easier than waking up. I just thought i’d give it a looksie.)

The whole idea and concept is paid for by ASK.COM from what i understand, and its all about making people more aware of their search engine.

So the process goes a little like this. Me/You make a search through the provided link. You find the site your interested in and click it and get the info you wanted. Then if the owner of the website wonders where this new visitor came from. He may click the refferal link and use Ask.com just that little bit more. (This might not be exactly how it works. But in my mind this is EXACTLY how it works.)

They pay roughly 3 pence per search. Which certainly isn’t gunna make you a gazillionaire anytime soon. But if you search the web alot anyway. You may as well give it a try.

Here’s how the maths come up

20 searchs per day = 60p

20 searches per day over a week = £4.20

52 weeks @ £4.20 = £218.40

And thats just for searches that you would normally make! Read the rest of this entry »
