So it’s been a while since i actually did anything to get rid of the spam comments that bombard this blog day after day. Lucky for me none of them actually get published. It’s probably because i have no requirement for the user to register before commenting. So its just a magnet for the spam bots that come around and attack daily.
Although it does give me something to laugh about when i am deleting them. Today i slaughtered over 400 spam comments on this blog alone. Never mind the other sites i have running. Among them were some seriously retarded comments from people. (Were you one of them?) Things like buying tramadol online Buying Wow Gold and and many many more.
It always amazes me that these spammers.(Thats what they are really, just lame little spammers) never give up.
If you really wanted WOW Gold without having to buy it all the time. You’d just visit one of the following sites and learn how to make 200 gold an hour or whatever they have to offer. Here lame spammers let me beat you to it.

The two sites listed above both have high reputation in the field of gold making in World Of Warcraft. By Using their guides you will never have to buy gold form those chinese farmers again. Or get someone else to play your account for you. (Which may get you banned or compromise your account)
Hopefully now the spambots will just stay away from here. Well at least the ones spamming me and trying to get their links on here for World Of Warcraft gold. Now i just need to work on a solution for the ones trying to sell car parts and other crap stuff.

I would rather not be a human spam filter and spend my time elsewhere. Spammers do it as it costs them next to nothing. If you are deleting 400 comments its only your loss IMHO.

I wrote a plugin to block comment spam without resorting to captchas. It uses a combination of time based hash and ajax to block spam (or atleast ensure the commenter was not a bot). I use it myself on both my blogs and now get almost zero spam from an earlier 40+ per day. This doesn’t replace Akismet but does complement it very well. I had to manually approve your comment as it seemed to get caught in my existing spam trap.
I agree that it costs them next to nothing to run those spambots. I didn’t have to manually filter them. Just had to hit the spam button to send them into spam hell!
I shall give your plugin a try (when i get finished installing windows on this piece of crap.)
Possibly the next few days will see me implement it. If it works well. i maye just use it on my other sites. Thanks for the shameless plug lol
